LONDON - A leading litigation practitioner with an established reputation in handling complex and significant UK and international matters has joined Fulbright & Jaworski International LLP's disputes and investigations practice in London.
John Evans comes to Fulbright as a partner from Howrey LLP, where he has spent the past five years. With more than three decades in private practice, including 17 years as a partner in the disputes practice at Ashurst, Evans has earned a solid reputation for handling complex and high-value litigation and disputes across a range of sectors. Evans' arrival represents a further strengthening of Fulbright's UK and international disputes practice in London.
Evans brings extensive experience handling complex litigation, including significant multi-party class action proceedings. Such experience has proven invaluable in his recent representation of clients pursued in cartel abuse litigation and in disputes relating to pharmaceuticals, medical devices and other products, including in connection with significant product liability proceedings. He also has represented clients in high value banking and finance disputes, judicial review proceedings and matters raising complex private and public international law issues.
His experience includes advising clients in the energy sector on risk management issues relating to offshore drilling installations, the UK's national gas pipeline network and transport sector clients in connection with rail and air disasters. In addition to his litigation practice, Evans brings substantial experience handling international arbitrations in the construction, infrastructure projects, fuel supply contracts and telecommunications sectors.
Admitted to practice in England and Wales in 1981 after receiving his MA and LLM from the University of Cambridge, Evans has been recognized for his "solutions-driven approach" by Chambers & Partners (UK). He is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales.
