NEW YORK - LexisNexis, a leading provider of content and technology solutions, on March 14 announced the release of LexisNexis(R) Early Data Analyzer 1.1, an enhanced version of its innovative electronic discovery software that now provides full Optical Character Recognition (OCR) support and significantly enhanced search capabilities. The new version will help litigation professionals further streamline the discovery process and contain costs.
LexisNexis Early Data Analyzer enables litigation teams to quickly capture an entire document set, assess the contents, and then eliminate irrelevant documents prior to the more costly e-discovery phases of processing and review. The new version includes a robust set of additional features, most notably the ability to conduct OCR within case files loaded into the system, allowing automatic review of images and graphics. Version 1.1 also adds metadata-based searching, which improves the speed and precision of searches across data files, improved document tagging, support for multiple date ranges in the set of electronic files, a new language filter, and the ability to save reports as Excel files.
"Since our successful launch, we've continued to work closely with our customers on key features that would improve their outcomes, most notably the inclusion of full OCR support to address the rising volume of images and graphics," said Matt Gillis, vice president and managing director of Litigation Tools & Professional Services at LexisNexis. "The new features within LexisNexis Early Data Analyzer allow litigation professionals to further customize and speed up early data assessment prior to processing, production and review."
LexisNexis Early Data Analyzer is available as a standalone product and as a fully integrated module within LexisNexis(R) LAW PreDiscovery(TM), a software application that gives litigation teams greater control over the massive amounts of discovery related to a case by integrating paper imaging and electronic discovery into one unified process.
Once users finish pre-processing a large set of electronic files with Early Data Analyzer, they can easily load the smaller, refined data set into LAW PreDiscovery for native and full-text extraction. By using Early Data Analyzer together with LAW PreDiscovery, LexisNexis customers were able to reduce the volume of data by up to 80 percent -- and in some cases, even as high as 95 percent -- right where it lives, helping them speed up e-discovery processing and realize substantial cost savings.
Also today, LexisNexis introduced LAW PreDiscovery 6.1, a new version of the software that now includes support for Microsoft Project and an enhanced search reporting tool. These new features make LAW PreDiscovery even easier for litigation professionals to use within their existing e-discovery workflow.
