Gulf Digital News, 27 April 2026: The Social Insurance Organisation (SIO), in coordination with the Labour Ministry, has confirmed measures to pay April 2026 salaries for Bahraini employees insured in private sector establishments, following legislative approval of amendments to Bahrain Decree-Law No. 78/2006 on Unemployment Insurance.
SIO Chief Executive Officer Sahar Al Mannai stated that the initiative implements directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to support the private sector, preserve the national workforce, and ensure continuity of economic activity.
Employers wishing to benefit must register via the SIO website by 28 April 2026, using their approved username and completing verification through a one‑time password (OTP). Employers may also review or update bank account details, with a bank‑issued certificate required for new IBAN submissions.
Salary payments will be processed based on insurance data recorded in April 2026. Employers will continue to pay salaries through standard procedures, while the SIO will transfer the amounts to establishments on 30 April 2026, after deducting applicable monthly contributions.
Officials emphasised that the measure contributes to labour market stability and comprehensive social protection for Bahraini employees in the private sector.
