Stepping into 2026: Where Momentum Meets Results

As the new year begins, I would like to thank you and your organisation for your continued partnership with LexisNexis Hong Kong. The past year delivered measurable progress as artificial intelligence became part of everyday practice for more legal professionals and teams. Throughout this period of change, our focus on trust, quality, and innovation has remained constant.

2025 was a year of practical growth. Together, we strengthened the foundation for responsible technology use while keeping professional judgment and accuracy at the heart of legal work.

Hong Kong became the first region in Asia to launch Lexis+ AI, combining global datasets with localised expertise. Developed with LexisNexis’s global data and local expertise, it marks a major step in applying responsible AI to real-world legal practice.

L
exis+ AI also features ProtégéTM, our integrated AI assistant that combines generative and agentic AI to help professionals find reliable answers, draft with precision, and analyse complex issues efficiently and securely.

Active customer involvement through our preview programme was key to shaping Lexis+ AI Hong Kong. We brought together leading law firms, corporate counsel, and government bodies to provide real-world insights that ensured accuracy, security, and usability tailored to Hong Kong’s legal market.

Early adopters, including leading law firms and corporate legal teams, are already using the platform to streamline research, reduce drafting time, and strengthen internal workflows. Feedback from these partners continues to guide new enhancements scheduled for release in 2026.

Lexis+ AI Hong Kong reflects our commitment to innovation that complements professional judgment and safeguards data integrity.

In 2025, we continued investing in trusted local content to ensure Hong Kong’s legal professionals have access to the most authoritative, practical, and up-to-date legal intelligence.

A major milestone was the launch of the new
Practical Guidance Hong Kong Intellectual Property module on 27 November 2025. The module introduces comprehensive practice notes on AI and copyright, licensing, IP audits, Web3, e-commerce, privacy, and more.

Across case law, we increased the volume of
Hong Kong Cases reported by 30% compared with 2024, strengthening practitioners’ access to timely judicial developments.

Our core publications also saw significant enhancements:

  • Annotated Ordinances of Hong Kong: 22 issues published, including one new title, Official Secrets Ordinance (Cap 521).
  • Halsbury’s Laws of Hong Kong: 30 volumes updated.
  • Atkin’s Court Forms and Hong Kong Encyclopaedia of Forms & Precedents: 9 reissues each.
  • Frontlist: 27 editions released, including seven first-edition titles.

Our author community expanded to 116 contributors including 11 new authors from leading chambers, firms, and universities, and 16 experts contributing to the new Practical Guidance module.

Each of these advancements reflects our continued investment in authoritative legal content, ensuring every practitioner can work with confidence, supported by resources that are current, credible, and designed for real-world applications.

Community engagement also remained at the heart of our efforts in 2025. Throughout the year, with an average of 2–4 in-person events and webinars monthly, we had the pleasure of connecting with many of you both online and offline. These sessions provided a valuable platform for discussion, learning, and connection as AI continues to reshape the way lawyers work.

A key highlight of the year was the
Lexis+ AI Hong Kong Launch, where we introduced our groundbreaking generative AI legal solution to the local market. The media briefing, launch event, and exclusive networking dinner brought together leaders from law firms, in-house legal teams, government, and academia. These sessions fostered meaningful dialogue on the responsible adoption of AI in legal practice and showcased how Lexis+ AI is transforming research and workflow efficiency across the profession.

Our
Lexis+ AI Insider Programme expanded significantly in 2025, with a community reach of 3,000+. Through curated networking sessions, product previews, and expert discussions, the programme offered exclusive early access to innovation, strengthening our partnership with the legal community and shaping the next phase of AI development at LexisNexis.

Highlights from the year include:

  • 6th In-House Legal & Compliance Conference 2025: Brought together in-house counsel, compliance leaders, and more to discuss the practical realities of AI governance, ethics, and regulatory change.
