LexisNexis Brings EagleEye Proofreading Tools to Lexis for Microsoft Office
Integration of market-leading tools decreases document turnaround time by eliminating content discrepancies and incompleteness August 18, 2015 — New York - - LexisNexis® Legal & Professional today announced the addition of new tools and enhancements in Lexis® for Microsoft Office®, the industry-leading legal drafting and review tool. Legal professionals will now be able to apply EagleEye, an intuitive agreement checking solution, directly from Lexis for Microsoft Office as they create their legal documents in Word and Outlook. This new set of tools will enable litigators and transactional attorneys alike to draft documents with greater ease and precision while minimizing the time they spend proofreading their work. The integration of EagleEye 3.1 into Lexis for Microsoft Office is the result of a new LexisNexis alliance with Microsystems, a software company dedicated to providing document technology solutions to improve document content quality and formatting, mitigate document-related risks and enhance document production efficiency. “Effective and efficient document review is vital to the success of litigation and transactional practitioners alike,” said Jeff Pfeifer, vice president, Lexis Advance at LexisNexis. “With the integration of EagleEye tools, we are giving Lexis for Microsoft Office users powerful means to automatically scan for consistency and errors, enabling them to deliver more precise, accurate and complete work as they prepare agreements, briefs, pleadings and other documents for their firms and clients.” EagleEye tools are designed to help legal professionals decrease document turnaround time. The tools, which are directly integrated into the Lexis for Microsoft Office ribbon, help eliminate content discrepancies and incompleteness. The three tools newly available include: “The integration of our EagleEye product into Lexis for Microsoft Office provides users access to the groundbreaking features of EagleEye, which naturally complement the innovative, industry-leading drafting capabilities native to the LexisNexis product,” said Stacey Kacek, CEO of Microsystems. “We're especially excited about this integration and about our overall partnership with LexisNexis as it enables a broader set of legal practitioners to experience EagleEye's benefits.” The Lexis for Microsoft Office 5.2 release also provides deeper integration with Lexis Advance®, which enables users to leverage Lexis Advance work folders to save, search and download documents directly from the Word and Outlook applications they are using. Additionally, this version updated to The Bluebook® 20th Edition so that citations can now be formatted according to the new rules published by Harvard in Summer 2015. Finally, Lexis for Microsoft Office users will also be able to draw from enhanced document citation and Table of Authorities features, including access to Get Cited Documents within Outlook, printable Shepard's® report batches and more. Lexis for Microsoft Office combines innovative drafting and review tools with seamless access to information and services from LexisNexis.
