LexisNexis Digital Library Wins AALL’s 2020 New Product Award
National Law Journal, Corporate Counsel, Dewey B. Strategic and others also recognize LexisNexis with numerous best-in-class awards for its innovative products
May 13, 2020 — NEW YORK – LexisNexis® Legal & Professional today announced its LexisNexis® Digital Library platform has been named the winner of the 2020 New Product Award from American Association of Law Libraries (AALL), following comprehensive enhancements to the platform this year. The award honors new commercial information products that enhance or improve existing law library services or procedures, or innovative products that improve access to legal information, the legal research process, or procedures for the technical processing of library materials. The LexisNexis Digital Library, a platform offering one of the largest collections of legal eBook publications, announced significant enhancements to the platform in January. These updates included a new app for simpler offline reading and an enhanced reading experience that allows users to get the research materials when and where they need them, whether they are at home or on the road. Other recent enhancements to the LexisNexis Digital Library include a completely rebuilt and personalized workspace that makes it easy for users to resume work where they last left off. The new interface was developed through an exhaustive customer discovery process in collaboration with OverDrive®, the global leader in digital eBooks, audiobooks and magazine distribution, after many hours of observation and records of users’ journeys through real-life legal research workflows.
“We are delighted to receive this recognition from AALL, which has long been a passionate champion of innovation and technology-enabled legal research,” said Deana Sparling, Senior Director of Digital Library and eBooks at LexisNexis Legal & Professional. “We’ve worked hard over the last couple of years to understand how legal professionals do research, stay productive and integrate their research with other activities. The result is a highly personalized workspace and a book-like digital reading experience, with notes, annotations and hyperlinks built in.”
Originally launched in 2012, the LexisNexis Digital Library offers the industry’s most comprehensive collection of legal resources and supporting materials in digital format, including the largest number of legal-topic ebooks anywhere. The Digital Library offers access to more than 3,800 LexisNexis titles, books from other legal publishers, as well as titles from the OverDrive Marketplace™, including audiobooks, digital eBooks and videos in a variety of business and other subjects from thousands of publishers.
