"The American Bar Association’s Commission on Immigration has released an updated Border Primer on immigration enforcement mechanisms at the U.S. border. The detailed handbook explains various enforcement methods used by the federal government at the U.S. southern border, with links to applicable laws, policies, court decisions, and recent developments. The primer includes looks at current policies, such as the Circumvention of Lawful Pathways Rule, credible fear interviews, the Family Expedited Removal Management (FERM), the Asylum Merits Interview (AMI), as well as prior enforcement policies, such as Title 42, metering, the third country asylum rule and Remain in Mexico (the Migrant Protection Protocols).
