2008 Socha-Gelbmann Award

August 2008

In the highly regarded 2008 Socha-Gelbmann Electronic Discovery Report, both Concordance and LAW PreDiscovery electronic discovery software from LexisNexis achieved Top 5 rankings in the overall Electronic Discovery Software Provider category, as well as seven other categories, including Processing, Review, Analysis, Production and Use of Software by Others.

This marks the fourth year in which LexisNexis software placed in the Top 5 and the fifth year in a row that Concordance placed first among electronic discovery software used by U.S. law firms.

The annual report is an independent and authoritative review capturing market size and scope, as well as trends, issues, provider standing and more within the e-discovery industry. Researchers used more than 350 qualitative and quantitative factors to rank 107 e-discovery services and software providers, 29 law firms and 19 corporations. Results are based on comprehensive survey responses, along with analysis from leading industry experts George Socha and Tom Gelbmann.

TotalPatent™, the world’s largest collection of searchable full-text and bibliographic patent information, won the 2008 Software & Information Industry Association’s CODiE Awards for “Best Online Science or Technology Service.”

Introduced in fall 2007, TotalPatent is a single online platform featuring the most complete and up-to-date national and international patent content available, including scientific and other prior art information.

Time Matters®, won in categories Case/Practice Management for Small and Mid-size Firms and "Docket & Calendaring."

CaseMap® case analysis software won in the categories Knowledge Management System and Case/Practice Management Software for Large Firms.

The LexisNexis Case Assessment and Analysis Consulting group also won in the Litigation Support Consultant category. LexisNexis supported the nomination of The Wills for Heroes® Foundation, which won "Most Innovative use of Technology for a Pro Bono Project" using HotDocs® document automation software donated by LexisNexis.
