Australian Justice Finds Potential Bias, Bars Judge From Hearing Asbestos Action

ADELAIDE, South Australia - Due to a ruling a judge issued in a similar asbestos damages action filed against a company, an Australian justice on April 20 granted an application filed by the company, which was named as an asbestos defendant in a lower court action, to disqualify the judge from hearing a case against it based on a reasonable apprehension of bias (BHP Billiton Ltd. v.
