Defendant In Decades-Old Rape Loses Bid For New Trial; DNA Opinion Unreliable

BOSTON - A Massachusetts Appeals Court panel on Jan. 14 refused to overturn a 30-year-old rape conviction, finding that expert DNA testimony excluding the defendant as a contributor was unreliable (Commonwealth of Massachusetts v. Robert DiCicco, No. 11-P-699, Mass. App.; 2014 Mass. App. Unpub. LEXIS 25).
