Rebekah Batt

Barrister

Pump Court Chambers

Rebekah joined Chambers in April 2022 following successful completion of a common law pupillage. She has a busy family and civil practice.

Prior to pupillage, Rebekah spent two years as a paralegal at a specialist family law firm where she worked on cases in all areas of private family proceedings. She gained experience in financial remedies cases across a variety of asset levels, including those with complex business issues, international elements and nuptial agreements. In addition, she assisted with TOLATA claims and surrogacy cases as well as private children cases ranging from CAOs to applications for leave to remove.

Rebekah was then a paralegal to a barrister specialising in personal injury and clinical negligence for 18 months. In this role, she was exposed to multi-track litigation with a particular focus on cases involving traumatic brain injuries. She assisted in preparing for CCMCs, joint settlement meetings and infant approval hearings and acquired experience drafting high value schedules, including for fatal accident claims.

Alongside studying for the BPTC and working as a paralegal, Rebekah volunteered at the National Centre for Domestic Violence assisting victims of domestic abuse to apply for non-molestation and occupation orders. She also provided pro bono advice and representation at the East London Family Court.
