Iain is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution and Litigation team and is based in London, having also been seconded to the firm's Abu Dhabi office before qualifying as a solicitor.

Iain has acted for clients across the public and private sectors. He has experience advising on commercial and corporate disputes including contractual claims both domestically and cross-border, alongside real estate development disputes (e.g. right to light, adverse possession, rights of way), and commercial and residential landlord and tenant for both landlords and tenants. He has been involved in claims in the Administrative Court, County Court and High Court as well as arbitration proceedings.

Hendrik is a Partner in our Commercial Litigation team and co-head of the Intertional Arbitration Group.

Hendrik advises clients on a wide range of complex and high-value disputes, both in arbitration and in court. 

He has extensive experience in representing entrepreneurs, family offices, companies and governments with cases ranging from M&A, joint ventures, franchising, construction, engineering, insurance, expropriation, and discrimination. 

Hendrik is a leading expert on investment treaty arbitration and has published widely on this topic. He is a member of the Contractual ICSID Arbitration Working Group and a strategic advisor to a foreign government on its bilateral investment treaties.

He has acted as party representative and party-appointed arbitrator in arbitrations under various rules, such as LCIA, ICC, VIAC, SIAC, DIS, LMAA, UNCITRAL, ICSID and the ICSID Additional Facility. He also assists clients with the enforcement, appeal, annulment, and injunction of arbitral awards.

He is multilingual and qualified in four jurisdictions (both civil law and common law), which enables him to handle cross-border issues effectively. He is known for his pragmatic and assertive approach to dispute resolution and advocacy.
