This seminar will equip legal professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively utilize LLMs in their practice, enhancing their ability to leverage AI technology in a legal context. The emphasis will be on the following skills: • Have a foundational understanding of how Large Language Models operate and the key technical mechanisms that influence their behavior. • Identify common prompting mistakes and learn strategies to avoid them in legal practice. • Understand the benefits and potential applications of generative AI in legal tasks to enhance efficiency and accuracy. • Select appropriate LLMs for legal tasks including assessing factors such as privacy, security, training data, and understand the distinction between legal and general-use LLMs. • Learn and implement the 5 Ps of Prompting—Prime, Persona, Prompt, Product, and Polish—to craft effective prompts for legal tasks
