Canadian Judge Invokes Bankruptcy To Assist In Collection Of Award

TORONTO - An Ontario judge on Jan. 14 granted a Canadian company's request for an order of bankruptcy in relation to an unpaid arbitration award issued against an investigative company and its sole shareholder, finding that they have ceased meeting their liabilities as required by law and that without invoking the bankruptcy process, it was unlikely that the claimant would be able to collect the outstanding award (Sentinel Group Corporation $(Re$), 2013 ONSC 301, Ontario Super.).
