Librarian Relations Consultant Research Tip: Refine search results by publisher

It’s easy to refine results to a specific publisher of interest. After conducting a search, you will find the Publisher filter on the left in the Narrow By options. It will be the last filter no matter what content you are in, so you can quickly find it by going to the bottom of the filters. Take a look at the screenshot below from a search in Legal News on google and bitcoin. The Publisher filter is opened, and you’ll see a list of publishers by name in the results:

If you use filters often, you’ll notice two traits that are different with the Publisher filter.

  1. The list of publishers is in alphabetical order, not results order. I really appreciate this feature because I can quickly scan an alphabetical listing for the publishers I want, ALM® Media, LLC and Dolan Media Company®, instead of having to carefully read the list if it was in results order.
  2. The list of publishers is not limited to the top 30 or first 30; it reflects ALL publishers in the results. For my workflow, this is very helpful and saves me a lot of time.

Utilize this filter to pinpoint your trusted and favorite publishers easily!
